How much does it cost?
A spot on our group ride is $85 per person (1-hour ride, up to 5 guests).
Our private experience is $250. This includes a 1-hour ride with just you, your guest, and one of our expert guides.
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance is due upon arrival. The deposit is refundable with cancellation up to 48 hours before your ride time.
How many people can go on a trail ride?
We limit our group rides to 5 guests. If there are fewer than 5 in your party, we'll pair you with another group.
Our private rides offer an extra special experience. It's just you and your guest with one of our guides for a memorable adventure.
How old do you have to be to go on a trail ride?
Our trail rides are best suited for ages 10 and up. For younger horse lovers, check out our Horse Experience.
Do you allow double-riding?
For your safety, we do not allow double-riding.
Can I gallop?
There is no galloping on the trail. We enjoy a slower pace so you can take in the beautiful scenery and watch for wildlife!
Is there a weight limit?
We have a weight limit of 225 lbs to ensure the health and safety of our horses.
Can I go on a trail ride by myself?
We prefer to have at least 2. Single riders can sometimes be accommodated on a weekday. Please contact us for availability.
Do I need to have any experience riding?
Nope! Our horses are safe for beginner riders.
What should someone wear for a Horse Experience?
Closed-toed shoes are a must. Plan on getting a little dirty, so dress comfortably and appropriately.
What should I wear for a trail ride?
Closed-toed shoes are a must. Long pants are recommended.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
We provide a helmet for all riders. Riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet.
Is there an age requirement for the horse experience?
The horse experience can be tailored for any age 5 and up.
Where do we trail ride?
Our trail rides are through the Marl Bed Flats, which is on the north side of the Lake Jesup Conservation Area. It is a combination of ancient live oak hammocks and grassy floodplains. A great opportunity for wildlife sightings and pictures, especially when the wildflowers are blooming in the late summer.
Where are you located?
Hidden Palms Ranch is conveniently located near I-4 and the 417 in the Sanford/Lake Mary area. We are only 5 minutes from the Orlando-Sanford International Airport, 30 minutes from The Orlando International Airport, 45 minutes from the attractions, and 40 minutes from the beach.
Do I have to make a reservation?
Yes, trail rides and horse experiences are by appointment only. You can book online or feel free to call us or email us to schedule your time at the ranch.
Do you offer group discounts?
Because we offer private trail rides, only taking 2-5 riders out at a time to make it a truly personal experience, we are not offering group discounts.
Can the whole family come for the horse experience?
This experience is designed for one-on-one time with the handler and the participant. Of course parents are welcome to take photos. If you would like to have more than one person participate, there is a $25 charge for each additional person.
How are payments handled?

What if it rains?
If we cancel due to rain, you can either reschedule or receive a refund. If rain is in the forecast, we will make the rain call 2 hours before your scheduled time.
